Alicia Bunton is the Director of Care and Quality Improvement at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. The AIDS Foundation of Chicago was founded in 1985 by community activists and physicians. It is a local and national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS collaborating with community organizations to develop and improve HIV/AIDS services; fund and coordinate HIV prevention, care, and advocacy projects; and champion effective, compassionate HIV/AIDS policy.

The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, a program of the Global Health Council, is one of the oldest and largest grassroots mobilization campaigns for HIV/AIDS awareness in the world.

In response to the development of an HIV and AIDS strategy by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the ELCA Conference of Bishops agreed to the presence of health screeners at its March 5-10, 2009, meeting for the purpose of providing HIV and AIDS testing to all members.
