- Keeping the reality of HIV/AIDS before the Church.
- Providing curricula for our churches and schools.
- Partnering with other national AIDS networks.
- Offering conferences for education, inspiration and support.
- Working cooperatively in "Stand with Africa".

An Invitation: The Lutheran AIDS Network provides a special opportunity for Lutherans to work together in support of all who have been affected by the HIV epidemic. LANET includes those who have AIDS, those who have organized to provide care and support and those who work to prevent further spread of the disease.

LANET represents a united Lutheran voice in interdenominational and interfaith communities working for prevention, treatment and support by fostering communication among these different caring communities.

Mission Statement: The ministry of LANET is HIV/AIDS prevention, care-giving and advocacy in the Lutheran community by:

- Advocating for the physical, emotional and spiritual health and human rights of people touched by HIV/AIDS.
- Promoting HIV/AIDS education among Lutherans and providing clear and comprehensive information regarding prevention.
- Serving as a visible presence of the Lutheran traditions in the HIV/AIDS interfaith dialogue and gatherings.
- Fostering the development of communities of support for those engaged in HIV/AIDS ministries.
- Promoting spiritual support for persons affected by HIV/AIDS.
